Before we begin.
The practical details.
What data buyers and collection partners need to know about working with Norda.
For data buyers
01Can we review sample footage before starting a project?
Yes. You can request private access to a selection of 24 egocentric clips from residential and commercial environments. The selection contains raw footage, without annotations or accompanying metadata. Our team reviews requests and follows up by email.

02Can Norda collect the particular tasks and environments we need?
Each Norda program starts with your learning objective, required tasks, and target environments. We organize contributors, site access, and capture equipment around that specification. Our collection experience initially focused on residential egocentric activity, with commercial collection expanding through company partnerships (12 site access and collection agreements with mid-to-large businesses, and growing).
03What cameras and capture systems do you use?
We are aligning our equipment around a baseline of Full HD video (1920 × 1080 pixels) at 30 frames per second, with camera positioning that keeps the relevant hands, tools and interactions clearly visible throughout the task. Moreover, the exact equipment is selected around the required viewpoint, visibility, image quality, and operating environment. Additional sensors, calibration, and synchronization requirements can be assessed and validated for the specific program.
04What will we receive in a project delivery?
The delivery specification is agreed before collection: required footage, file organization, technical parameters, and any accompanying annotations or additional outputs. If your workflow requires particular labels, metadata, or a dataset format, we assess those requirements during scoping.
05How do you check quality and handle recordings that miss the specification?
Our current collection workflow includes daily footage review and feedback to contributors. Checks follow the task requirements, including whether relevant hands, objects, and actions are visible and whether the capture protocol was followed. We use corrective feedback and targeted recollection where needed. Acceptance criteria and the treatment of nonconforming recordings are agreed for each program.
06Can we start with a pilot, and what determines cost and timing?
Yes. We start with a focused pilot to validate the capture setup and resulting data against your requirements before scaling. Scope, pricing, and timing depend on task complexity, site access, contributor requirements, equipment, volume, and any annotation or additional processing. Pilot deliverables and the criteria for progressing to recurring collection are agreed upfront.
07How are data rights, confidentiality, and exclusivity handled?
We define site permissions, participant consent, and the customer’s permitted data use for each program. Our current client work operates under confidentiality and exclusivity arrangements. For a new engagement, licensing or ownership, exclusivity, and any restrictions on reuse can be agreed on a case by case scenario. Confidential client footage and specifications are not available as public examples.
08How is project data transferred, accessed, and retained?
Transfer arrangements, authorized access, and retention requirements are defined for each program. Our operating experience includes cloud-based delivery, with retention requirements set according to the client engagement. Any specific hosting, access-control, or deletion requirements should be included during scoping so we can confirm the appropriate setup.
09What do your published scale figures represent?
The 65,000+ delivered hours and 300+ contributors reflect prior collection programs delivered by members of Norda’s current operating network. The 68,000+ employee figure describes potential reach through current company relationships. New programs may still require their own task fit, site arrangements, and participant onboarding which is outside of our current site sourcing perimeter.
For collection partners
01Could our company or workplace become a collection partner?
Potentially yes. We assess workplaces against the tasks and environments required by a client’s data program. Relevant considerations include the activities performed, geography, access permissions, willing participants, safety requirements, and whether suitable footage can be captured.
02What would be recorded, and can we restrict certain areas or activities?
The recording scope should be agreed before collection, including permitted tasks, locations, participants, and times. Restrictions involving confidential processes, screens, documents, customers, or other people need to be identified during planning with our legal department. Site permission and participant arrangements are addressed separately, so it’s important to note that company access alone does not automatically authorize every recording.
03Who provides equipment and manages the collection?
Norda coordinates the collection program, including the capture setup, contributor instructions, and quality review. The project plan defines who provides equipment, who supports participants on site, and how footage is transferred. We agree to those responsibilities with the partner before collection begins to align expectations and avoid work disruptions.
04How would collection affect our staff and day-to-day operations?
We plan collections around the agreed workflows and the site’s operating constraints. A focused pilot helps establish equipment suitability, participant effort, scheduling, and any disruption before a wider rollout. Safety requirements and restricted activities are part of that assessment, as the collection scope must always fit the specific working environment.
05How are commercial terms and the use of our recordings agreed?
Partner compensation, participant payments where applicable, responsibilities, and collection commitments are agreed for each program. The intended use of the recordings, including robotics or AI training, and any restrictions on sharing or reuse also need to be defined. Participation alone does not imply permission to publish your company’s identity or footage in marketing material.
